Welcome to the penultimate collection of Famous Last Words. These originally appeared on GameWyrd and were transported over to Geek Native when the two sites converged. Who sings the Dragon Ball Kai ending music?

April 18, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood 2 Comments

Dragon Ball Kai is the replace and reboot series for Dragon Ball Z. You’ll know by now whether you’re a fan or not. Lined up to sing the ending theme for this anime is a hugely popular Japanese pop group called AKB48. Though “group” isn’t really the word I’d use to describe a collection of […]

April 17, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood 25 Comments

If you’ve not seen the Victory of the Daleks and don’t want spoilers then – look away now. Gone? Right; the rest of us can speculate as to whether we’ll see a Doctor Who episode that puts the spotlight on the Eternal Dalek? In Victory of the Daleks we saw a new generation of pure […]

April 17, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood 3 Comments

Moonstone Books have got permission from their friends at 5Finty to turn the collectable card series Zombies vs Cheerleaders into a comic book series. Moonstone list the new title in their humour section but do suggest Zombies vs Cheerleaders will be as morbid as it funny. Steven L. Franks has the writing lead and will […]

Sillof’s most amazing Star Wars samurai figures

April 17, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood 2 Comments

There’s a bit of a Star Wars samurai theme going on. Previously on Geek Native we’ve featured Steve Bialik’s Star Wars as samurai art. Now we have rather impressive Star Wars samurai models. The artist/model builder in the limelight this time is Sillof – “Si” (like Psi or Sci-fi ) and “llof” (like cough or […]

Artists like Portal Comic / Hernan Cebrera and Elsa Chan are treating us to some visually stunning “What if” scenarios.

What if Sam Fisher, from Splinter Cell, was a woman?

What if Hellboy was Hellgirl?

Shall we find out?

Fringe’s Brown Betty pictures; the musical episode

April 17, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Brown Betty is the musical episode of Fringe. Yep; they sing in Fringe. Thanks to Patrick Lee at SciFi Wire we get to peak at some of the pictures from this musical version. SciFi Wire is the blog for SyFy. I don’t know if it’ll become SyFy Wire but, so far, I’m glad it’s kept […]

Famous Last Words 13/15: Hey, what does this button do…?

April 17, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

Are you used to playing in games where characters die often? Is re-rolling a frequent event? Or are you from a gaming group where there is fear of death but the end of character; the end of that story point, is a rare and significant event? Hopefully, no matter how you might answer the question […]

New Dungeons and Dragons comic book series

April 16, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast have granted IDW Publishing a license to launch several new Dungeons and Dragons comic book lines. We’re expecting the first one to be available in August. IDW’s Dungeons and Dragons contribution is expected to be set in the “core” world, but then grow to include Dark Sun (January 2011) […]
