December 9, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

[I want this!] Have you seen Texts from Kobold? A little joke on Geek Native proved surprisingly popular. All it took was for one bored kobold to get his hand on a smartphone, start to annoy-text his evil wizard boss and wave adventurers through and gamers started to notice. It’s half a year later and […]

What an ambush! A review of The Rise of Tiamat

December 7, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The Rise of Tiamat is an adventure in Wizards of the Coast’s Tyranny of Dragons series. It follows on from the Hoard of the Dragon Queen and while, on the whole, it is a good book it packs one heck of an ambush! I enjoyed the Hoard of the Dragon Queen. Wolfgang Baur and Steve […]

Life without Wizards as Trapdoor take Codename: Morningstar to Kickstarter

December 6, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This pitch for Codename: Morningstar talks about stories. It’s worth knowing the back story to Trapdoor Technologies before watching the video, I think. It began with Wizards of the Coast appointing Trapdoor to build the D&D 5e digital toolset. We don’t know what happened. There was a change of heart and the two companies stopped […]

This Harry Potter LARP is magical

December 2, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 3 Comments

This video is footage from this year’s international and volunteer created LARP “College of Wizardry”. It might remind you of a certain magical school boy and so I’m going to call it a Harry Potter LARP. That’s just me, though. You can conjure up more information over at the official page at Rollespilsakademiet. At a […]
