Micro trailer for War of Legends hints at anime and Manhua

January 6, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This trailer for the free-to-play multiplayer strategy game War of Legends is on my radar today because of the sheer mass of YouTube players it has. Not heard of it before but let’s hope it’s not another Evony clone. There’s really not that much to see the trailer except a Japanese war gathering and the […]

The American wing of Future Publishing, Future US, will publish a subscription only official magazine to the mighty MMO World of Warcraft. The first issue is promised for the “end of the holiday season” and will be ad-free. Future and Blizzard are pushing 148 pages of art, behind-the-scenes insights and peaks at Cataclysm. Will it […]

Diablo 3: The Morlu Caster

December 22, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The Morlu first appeared in the Diablo story in the Sin War Trilogy as special elite infantry serving the Triune and Lucion. Fans of the Diablo series have combed through the concept art and compared notes with the Monk’s cinematic movie to discover a new monster type for Diablo 3. The Morlu Caster is expected […]

Sneak peak at the new Warhammer 40K MMORG

December 1, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Those well connected geeks at Kotaku have been sent some Warhammer 40K MMORG concept art. It looks like all traditional Games Workshop stuff. Let’s hope they manage to franchise this better than they did when they allowed Warhammer Fantasy Battle to morph into Warcraft and then loose out on World of Warcraft.

EVE Online: Dominion

November 29, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Eve Online’s Dominion is a free expansion due out on December 1st this year… yup; in just a few days. Eve’s die hard fans, addicts one and all, will be chewing their fingernails until the 1st. Then we won’t seem them away from their screen until Christmas. Good luck everyone!

Awesome Aion trailer

November 29, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Aion’s certainly causing a bit of a stir in some quarters. I think this trailer goes a long way in showing why – the planet looks awesome, the graphics clever and far more engaging than traditional MMORGS. What do you think? Could Aion lure you away from WOW to lure you into the multi-player online […]

New World of Warcraft ad – just annoying?

November 29, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I was sitting in a room of WoW players when I asked about the latest ad campaign. “Have you seen it?” I asked, “Seen it? I’m living it,” came one reply. Check out the video yourself but be aware that this is actually happening in game. As another WoWer said; this is an odd move […]

Left 4 Dead 2 boycott – the mod battle

October 24, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

When Valve announced Left 4 Dead 2 – amazingly – not everyone was happy. There was one group of fans who thought that it was “too soon”. They were still playing Left 4 Dead and didn’t fancy the online gamers being split between the two titles. They wanted more additions to Left 4 Dead. Whereas […]

The 12 Masks of Halloween: #8 World of Warcraft Troll

October 18, 2009 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This must be one of my favourite masks in the entire 12 Masks of Halloween collection. The World of Warcraft troll works because it’s a good, general, halloween mask for everyone. WoW players, of course, get the inside joke and should recognise the creature. Here’s the prediction: This year World of Warcraft Halloween costumes will […]
