Get to know the cosplayers: Soni Aralynn and Thaxos

January 2, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Distractotron continue their simple but effective series “Cosplay Chronicles”. This is a chance to get to know the cosplayers and I think it slays claims of “fake geek girls” in a single clip. Soni Aralynn comes across as credible, grounded and all types of hip. As a male cosplayer Thaxos doesn’t have to deal with […]

Have you caught up with any of the Doctor Puppet episodes on YouTube? Perhaps the Christmas Special is the one to start on. As you’d expect from a Doctor Who special it features some familiar faces. As it’s a Christmas puppet show there’s also a bit of singing and not so much on the Dalek […]

Only Leigh – A Very Fangirl Christmas

December 19, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I’m impress at the speed at which Leigh Lahav is able to animate. Fangirls seems to be going from strength to strength. This Jingle Bells variant, for example, went live on the 16th and has already racked up some 160,000 views. What do you think? Is this a budding animation empire in the making?

Ghost in the Shell: Arise – web episode

November 20, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I’ve been lucky enough to see some Ghost in the Shell: Arise and review GitS: Arise – Pain. This, though, is new. Ghost Whispers is a web episode to promote Kokaku-JPRS.jp. Logicoma fan? Good news. There’s three of them in this web episode and that’s a threefold increase from the one in Pain.

Creativity Kills: Interesting ways to slay your foes in D&D

November 3, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Warning; NSFW language in places. This is a year old video from CrossPlatform ActionSquad in which they reminisce on murderous adventures, lucky dice rolls and players hacking through the zombie threat in unexpected ways. This is the first CrossPlatform ActionQuad video I found and it’s worthy of the share. I’ve hit the subscribe button. There’s […]

[Back this Campaign] It’s taken me a while to get around to watching the Kickstarter pitch for Season 3 of Adventures of the League of S.T.E.A.M. I’m glad I’ve watched it now but the campaign is in the final week. I’m glad I watched the pitch video because the quality speaks for itself. I really […]

Star Trek teleportation stunt

September 14, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Tesco owned BlinkBox had so much success with their Dragon Skull on the beach stunt to promote their UK streaming rights of Game of Thrones I’m not surprised to see them back for bite two. This time the online TV service is using some illusion magic to grab our attention for Star Trek into Darkness. […]

If you want to see this trailer turn into a short film and rub shoulders with the Steam posse then the creator asks you up-vote it here. End of the Line is a James McVinnie project and a core team of worthy experts. It’s a Team Fortress 2 short, created with Valve’s SFM tool. If […]
