Dead Space 3 trailer

January 28, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

What did you think when you heard Dead Space 3 wouldn’t be entirely set in space? Dead Snow 1? Hmm. Opinions differed. Visceral seem to have kept it real, though, judging from this trailer. The artic wastelands look just as hopeless as deep space. The game is due out in February; the US first and […]

The Elder Scrolls Online and the TESO alliance

January 23, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

It’s easy to see why this trailer is so popular. What’s going on? Which side should I join? Look at that action! And for gamers like myself who like politics, factions and that sort of thing there’s even the clever suggestion of that going on. The three warriors facing off to become the Elder Scrolls […]

The StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm expansion lands in March. The pack follows on from StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and leads into StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. As the name suggests the expansion keeps the focus on the Zerg. It adds new units, tweaks multiplayer and covers about 20 missions. Will you […]

January 22, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The current record asking price for a successful Kickstarter is Elite: Dangerous. Frontier Developments asked for £1,250,000 to fund that computer game. That’s just shy of $2m US. Gas Powered Games are asking $1.1m US for the Wildman RPG. They describe Wildman RPG as an “action RPG”. That’s a term that’s become to be used […]

Habit RPG is a real, live and currently active game. It gamifies your life, rewarding you for to-do list success, healthy habits and slaps your hit points otherwise. Monte Cook’s Numenera becomes Planescape: Torment sequel

January 9, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I think the best computer roleplaying game I’ve ever played was Planescape: Torment. Skyrim is great but Planescape: Torment was special. It looks like the stars have aligned and there will be a follow up. Wizards of the Coast have carefully guarded the rights to Planescape and the original Black Isle studio close. Makes it […]
