This might not be straight out of Doctor Who but it’s very clever. It just goes to show what these quadcopter units can do. Okay, I’ve not counted all the blades… and, oh wait, there’s this landing issue. How does it land? Hats off to the Flyonix team for a cracking design and video.

Reasons to like the PadFone approach
ASUS have launched the PadFone Mini in Taiwan. It’s not a common concept in Europe nor does it appear to be so in the States but I like it. This is a 4.3 inch phone that slides into a 7 inch tablet. The video touches on some of the reasons why I like the tech […]
War and marriage with werewolves: A review of The Silvered
An empire armed with fledgeling technology; rifles, basic artillery, air balloons and even early cameras invades a nearby country ruled by mages and werewolves. The set up for Tanya Huff‘s The Silvered seems to offer a little for everyone and be designed to lure in gamers. I must admit that the mashup of a setting […]
Doctor Who: Christmas 2013 trailer shows The Time of the Doctor
The BBC America trailer for the Christmas 2013 trailer for “The Time of the Doctor” puts the writing on the wall. Like the Pandorica the events at Trenzalore are there to trap the Doctor. Can the future be changed? The clip shows Silence doing something other than being spooky, shooting lightening out of their dodgy […]

This is the largest ever open-call for amateur game designers and the 7th year of Paizo’s annual RPG Superstar competition. The competition gives unknown game designers the chance to have the work critiqued by industry veterans and (yikes!) the fan community. This year’s host is Paizo Designer Sean K. Reynolds and the panel includes other […]
Peoples and Places: The Sertorius preview
Next year Bedrock Games will be releasing the Sertorius RPG. We’ve already had a look inside Sertorius and in this post we get a peak at the world itself. The map (which is still in beta) is by Rob Conley gives you a good idea of the shape and geography of the world. The text […]

The anime is being made by Bones, directed by Kotaro Tamura, Deko Akao on script and Toshihiro Kawamoto on character design. The series will follow the fantasy manga that launched in 2011 and […]
Live action Kiki’s Delivery Service trailer
Have you seen a successful live action version of a popular anime? Hayao Miyazaki’s Kiki’s Delivery Service is giving it a good go. There are some changes, though. Studio Ghibli only covered the first of two stories by Eiko Kadono but the live action will stretch to both. This is the adventure of a young […]
