Have you seen a successful live action version of a popular anime?
Hayao Miyazaki’s Kiki’s Delivery Service is giving it a good go. There are some changes, though. Studio Ghibli only covered the first of two stories by Eiko Kadono but the live action will stretch to both.
This is the adventure of a young girl, Kiki, who starts training as a witch. Along with Jiji, her black cat, she leaves home and moves to the seaside town of Koriko. There are six books in the series so if the first film is covering two we might expect a trilogy to follow if it’s a box office hit.
