Batman prequel: Pennyworth gets a season one trailer and poster

Batman’s faithful butler is getting his own show. It’s coming to EPIX on July 28th and features Jack Bannon and the singer Paloma Faith.

Epix is the youngest of the premium TV channels in the States. So will we be able to watch Pennyworth in the UK? The answer is only a maybe. We’ll have to flutter our eyes at E4 who’ll have a Gotham shaped hole to fill.

As the trailer shows, this is the story of a young Alfred Pennyworth. He’s only just out of the army and trying to set up an independent security company when he encounters Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge). The drama escalates from there in a way which suggests more of a gang story than a superhero one.

A poster for the show has also been released, and it looks like they’re keeping London firmly in the spotlight.
