The Dark Side of the Force versus Aliens

August 28, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Here’s an interesting battle. I say “interesting” in the sense of academic and “I’d watch from a great distance” as it’s certainly not a conflict I’d want to be close too. Who would win when it came to Sith versus Aliens? Could Darth Maul take out a host of Xenomorph aliens? Could Darth Vader take […]

Ïve Bastrash’s awesome poster art

July 31, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Artist Ïve Bastrash has a portfolio worth checking out. He’s only been on Deviant Art for a week but gallery is already making an impact. His website describes a passion for art and drawing – Bastrash has been able to explore many different techniques but his favourite remains comics. This collection is a set of […]

The mighty Xenomorph Rex

July 26, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

On Monday we posted the first episode of Barry Sonnenfeld’s Dinosaurs Vs Aliens motion comic. It’s an interesting concept. There are all sorts of dinosaurs – and there are also all kinds of aliens, including the facehugging, acid drooling, xenoform aliens. This impressive predator is the creation of Nebezial and shows you what might happen […]

Dinosaurs Vs Aliens motion comic trailer

July 23, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Dinosaurs Vs Aliens is a comic by Grant Morrison and Mukesh Singh. That’s the same Grant Morrison who writes for Superman, Batman and others. It’s the same Mukesh Singh who’s worked on Guy Ritchie’s Gamekeeper and who worked with Grant Morrison on 18 Days.

My Nerdy Boyfriend

July 16, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This charming song raises some interesting questions. Who would win in a fight – Buffy or Data? Which film is worse – Aliens 4 or Matrix 3?

What do the aliens in Prometheus look like? [pictures]

May 15, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

The latest trailer for Prometheus gives us the best glimpses of the aliens yet. It’s fair to say you’ll see a lot of overlap with classic Alien horror and design. This is an official trailer, not a leak, but still be cautious about watching it or reading any further if you’re worried about spoilers. The […]

What if E.T. was an alien?

April 1, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Sometimes cycle around and around on the internet. There’s been a few of these evergreen images on Geek Native before; Sir Ian McKellen’s (faked) Gandalf/Magneto tee or Optimist Prime versus Negatron for an example. Here’s another; E.T. as an… alien. That alien. There are plenty of variants of this image. A busier one; In fact, […]

Aliens on Ice

November 25, 2011 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I think this proves there is life in the franchise yet. I’m talking about Alien and Aliens but not Prometheus. If you’re not tracking then Prometheus is the “yes it is” and “no it is not” Alien prequel. This video, however, is clearly Aliens. It’s Aliens on Ice.

LEGO Predator

September 6, 2011 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Lego engineer Shawn Synder has a history of building great Predator sculptures so do check out the full collection. The image below shows his latest work and I think it looks fantastic. I don’t know the Lego bricks he used for the tendrils but it’s hard to imagine how he could have done better!

Jonathan Ross’ Turf review

August 31, 2011 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Jonathan Ross may be best known for his voice talent on Fable 3. He worked alongside Stephen Fry and, oh, what… wait? Ah! Okay. I’m told Mr Ross is actually best known for being a mega-famous UK personality. You can tell he’s a heavy hitter because Mark Millar himself provides the intro to the graphic […]
