The Dark Side of the Force versus Aliens

August 28, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Here’s an interesting battle. I say “interesting” in the sense of academic and “I’d watch from a great distance” as it’s certainly not a conflict I’d want to be close too. Who would win when it came to Sith versus Aliens? Could Darth Maul take out a host of Xenomorph aliens? Could Darth Vader take […]

Joss Whedon’s alternative opening to The Avengers

August 28, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The Avengers could have had a different and much darker opening sequence. Not only was it written and planned, it was shot and filmed. It begins with the aftermath of the battle and with the predictable blame game starting up. It also shows the tensions in the relationship between Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria […]

August 28, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLYfaNLHExQ Kuro is a new game – presumed RPG – from Cubicle 7. It’s a game that blends the Japanese horror style with a dark and near future. Cubicle 7 have experience in this area as they already produce Qin The Waring States. They also cite Yggdrasill – a Norse mythology game and Kelita – […]

Doctor Who: Pond Life, part 2

August 28, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This is the second in the five part mini-series called Pond Life that follows Amy and Rory trying to have a “life”. This eposide is just as small and as teasing as the first Pond Life and acts as a clever wrapper around some micro teasers for season 7 of Doctor Who. If you’ve not […]

Wii U launches November 18 [rumour]

August 27, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

It feels like an age since Nintendo announced their next generation console. Their console, the Wii U, would step back into the console-power game albeit not in a crazy way and rather than a Wii-mote as the clever new feature made use of a controller that also had a screen. The jury is out as […]

Your very own Cthulhu pocket idol

August 27, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Every Cthulhu cultist should have a big altar. That’s a given. The altar would ideally be set in a crypt, cave (by the sea) or perhaps ancient temple that belonged to a long lost tribe not recognised by modern science. What about those times you need to check with Cthulhu wisdom when you’re not near […]

Underneath the Stormtrooper helmet

August 27, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Have you ever wondered what a Stormtrooper looks like under their helmet? There’s no reason to wonder, really, clone troopers look alike (like Boba Fett, infact). The first Stormtroopers are renamed clone troopers. There were other clone lines, though, such as from Coruscant and Centrax-2. By the Battle of Kamino in 12 BBY, the Fett […]
