Chibi Eeveelutions might be the cutest evolution yet

June 20, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Eeveelutions are a group of eight Pokemon that evolve from an Eevee. It’s a significant term as fans coined it and later adopted by the Pokemon Company for Pokemon Stadium 2 when it first appeared official. They’re adorable. Chibi is a slang term used by anime fans for something small and cute. In fact, it […]

Wow! These Printable Heroes really work!

June 20, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This Orcus was shared by Aaron Dias a gamer from Calgary. The demon isn’t a D&D miniature in the traditional sense. It’s paper and Aaron printed out the beast himself. Impressive, huh? No wonder the Patreon behind the project, Printable Heroes, has nearly $8,000 a month in donations and almost 3,000 gamers backing it. They’re […]

It’s not wrong to start your fantasy adventure with your to-be-heroes in a tavern but it is a cliche. What if you want to do something different? An accessible and wise approach is to have your players work together to build some reason to care for the other PCs into their own character’s background. ‘Session […]

The majestic restoration of this red dragon’s mounted head

June 18, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood 2 Comments

Canadian cosplayer and makeup FX artist Rynn Gallagher shared this remarkable red dragon conversion. I think the original is the WizKid’s Dungeons & Dragons Red Dragon Trophy Plaque. You can buy that from Amazon for a few hundred quid, but Rynn’s transformation is so thorough I’d estimate it adds hundreds more!

Trade and tactics: Efemeris – Celestial Domination navigates Kickstarter

June 17, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

There’s a lovely “old school” sketch style to DTDA Games’ Efemeris – Celestial Dominations board game. At a glance you might think it’s about the European nations expanding out to subjugate and trade with the rest of the world. Well, it kinda is… but in space. You can follow the progress on Kickstarter here. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dtdagames/efemeris-celestial-domination/ […]

Bleach live action: Samurai and monstrous ghosts

June 17, 2018 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

We’ve learnt to manage our own expectations when it comes to live-action adaptations of anime and manga. It’s not easy. We’ve had the Attack on Titan and Ghost in the Shell live action attempts from Japan and America in semi-recent memory and neither became a break out hit. Could Bleach do better? This trailer gives […]
