Sony gave us a teaser for Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa’s Monster Hunter movie over the weekend.
The movie, as you can see, is only loosely based on the CAPCOM game.
Jovovich is leading an elite military squad when they fall through a portal and arrive in a world riddled with monsters.
The team’s firepower isn’t effective. Fortunately, they meet Tony Jaa’s character, a hunter, who has the skills and techniques necessary to do battle.
The teaser is called “Black Diablos”, which is a large monster from Monster Hunter World and they’re often found in deserts. As you can see; they’re immediately hostile. The Fandom wiki says this;
These black-shelled Diablos are actually female Diablos in heat. The color signals their aggressiveness and heightened hostility to other creatures in their habitat.”
Sony’s YouTube description says the movie is coming out in December. That’s earlier than expected, but also, well, this is 2020. We’ll have to take that with a pinch of salt.
