I called the easy-to-spot sexy vampire action in the first Call of the Night trailer. The current trend, the wisdom, in anime trailers is to show different facets of the same show with different trailers to appeal to different audiences.
Not so with Call of the Night. We get the same male fantasy; a visit and whirlwind experience of an every-day-(could be me)-guy with a sexy vampire.
I know. I’m being harsh and assuming gender preferences. Call of the Night is not the only anime to offer fan service, and there are women with similar fantasies. And why not! Ko’s night with Nazuna looks wild.
The anime starts in Japan on July 8th and will hit HIDIVE simultaneously.
Viz Media have the manga license for the English-language adaptation and describes the adventure;
Nanakusa is a vampire. That’s okay with human Ko. He wants to be one too. But transformation doesn’t come that easily…
When Nazuna invites Ko to spend the night at her place in an abandoned building, he’s stoked! But then he awakens to kisses on his neck with a little too much bite to them… Is it just the delicious taste of his blood that makes her meet him night after night for late-night adventures, conversation and…naps? Or something else? Then, when a cute girl from Yamori’s past shows up and competes for his attention, his budding relationship with the undead is put to the test!
Sentai Filmworks have the anime rights, though, and they say;
Wracked by insomnia and wanderlust, Ko Yamori is driven onto the moonlit streets every night in an aimless search for something he can’t seem to name. His nightly ritual is marked by purposeless introspection — until he meets Nazuna, who might just be a vampire! Ko’s new companion could offer him dark gifts and a vampire’s immortality. But there are conditions that must be met before Ko can sink his teeth into vampirism, and he’ll have to discover just how far he’s willing to go to satisfy his desires before he can heed the Call of the Night!
