Tower of God is a hugely popular comic/manga that’s not from Japan. It’s a Korean smash hit with millions of readers.
Drawn and written by SIU (Lee John-hwi), Tower of God is the story of a young man called Twenty-Fifth Bam who lives below a tower with Rachel.
After Rachel enters the Tower, so does Bam.
The series from WEBTOON and Crunchyroll is one of the eight new CruncnyRoll Originals along with In/Spectre which is already airing.
Inside the Tower, there is a strict hierarchy of beings that Bam must face. There are the Regulars, which count as ordinary people inside the Tower.
Then there are the Rankers who govern the Regulars and are powerful combatants. The Rankers, in turn, are led by members from the 10 Great Families.
Lastly, the most powerful entity in the Tower is King Jahad, who appears to be immortal and who struck a deal with the people of the Tower to secure that position.
However, Bam and Rachal are Irregulars from outside the Tower. They’re not bound by King Jahad’s deal.
Tower of God premieres in April 2020.
