Andarta Pictures have announced they’re making 24 episodes, each 26 minutes long, to bring Ewilan’s Quest to life as an animation.
Ewilan’s Quest by Pierre Bottero is really popular in France and has been slowing making its way into English speaking markets. There isn’t an English translation of the books but there is an IDW published graphic novel.
In the series Camille is a bored and intelligence 13-year old girl, living with overprotective adoptive parents, and hanging out with a guy from the wrong side of the tracks called Salim.
Then, one day, to avoid a truck, she suddenly finds herself in a fantasy world. It’s in this world she discovers her real parents are potent magicians who had her sent to our world for her safety.
Back “home” in our reality, Camile begins to learn how to work magic here, and even the sceptical Salim starts to believe her stories about the world of Gwendalavir and her parents.
