Kaiju Attack: Pacific Rim teaser

I’ve seen debate around this clip. Is it Cloverfield 2? Is it the new Godzilla movie? I don’t think so. Given the terminology (and what plenty of others are saying) I’m sure this is Guillermo del Toro’s giant mecha versus monsters Pacific Rim movie.

That’s right; the man who did Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth and who kicked off The Hobbit may not (yet) be able to make his Lovecraft Mountains of Madness movie but he is getting to talk directly to native geeks with this movie. There’s bound to be some anime influence in the movie, hard to see how it can’t – especially given the use of Kaiju – but there might well be some of those surreal dark fairytail touches that del Toro frequently brings to his movies.
