Pinnacle Entertainment Group has opened player registration for Hollerween 5, its official online convention running from Friday, 30 October. Hosted primarily through the official Discord server, the digital event offers free badges for over 30 scheduled roleplaying games.

While marketed as a showcase for official settings like Holler, Deadlands, and East Texas University, the schedule shows distinct and not unwelcome system creep. Non-Pinnacle properties, including Chaosium’s Call of Cthulhu, feature prominently among the listed sessions. The extra games are very much on-theme! Demand is currently outpacing supply, with high-profile games fully booked before the weekend begins.
Offline, the publisher is observing 30 years of Deadlands by grounding the Weird West in actual American history. A physical anniversary event takes place in Tombstone, Arizona, this weekend. Attendees will visit the O.K. Corral and the Tombstone Epitaph before participating in a nighttime zombie crawl at the Apocalypse Rawhide haunted town.

The Savage Worlds Adventurer’s Guild is showing signs of mechanical maturation alongside the convention. Independent creator Jakub Osiejewski has released The Unofficial Investigator’s Handbook. The 120-page digital toolkit introduces concrete forensic mechanics, 10 new arcane backgrounds, and specific lie-detection rules. This marks a shift from simple, self-contained scenarios to comprehensive, system-wide expansions on the community platform.
Elsewhere, new Ace licensee Remorker has placed the arcanepunk fantasy setting Kalusa: The Enchanted City on BackerKit. The setting promises 33 non-player characters and 16 non-linear adventures. Readers can find a detailed breakdown of the mechanics in the Geek Native preview of Kalusa: The Enchanted City. Pinnacle has highlighted the campaign in its latest newsletter, though it did not provide a confirmed launch date.
