Crowdfunding platform GameFound has unveiled “RPG Party,” a new initiative aimed at supporting independent tabletop roleplaying game creators. The program, run in partnership with DriveThruRPG, Magpie Games, Chaosium, and Loot Tavern, intends to provide resources, mentorship, and marketing assistance to help creators develop and fund their projects.

The initiative is designed for small to mid-sized TTRPG creators with projects that have not been previously crowdfunded. This includes new game systems, settings, or adventures. According to the announcement, the collaboration seeks to offer a network of industry expertise and a platform for creators to refine and showcase their work, regardless of prior crowdfunding experience.
Program Structure and Support:
An open call for project submissions is currently underway, with applications being reviewed by a jury comprising representatives from GameFound, DriveThruRPG, Magpie Games, Chaosium, and Loot Tavern.
From the submissions, 20 projects will be selected to receive comprehensive support, which includes:
- Workshops conducted by industry veterans from Magpie Games, Chaosium, and GameFound, focusing on project refinement and crowdfunding strategy.
- Marketing boosts provided by DriveThruRPG.
- One-on-one consultations for select projects with Loot Tavern.
- Assistance from GameFound in creating preview pages for their campaigns.
- Marketing support in the form of Adfound credits (ranging from $100 to $500, based on follower count) for use when the campaigns launch.
Submission Requirements:
To be eligible, projects must meet the following criteria:
- Submission Materials: A two-page spread is preferred, or at minimum, one piece of art and one full page of text that clearly outlines the project.
- Format: The project must be intended for physical print, though digital rewards like PDFs are permissible.
- Content: Submissions should be original tabletop RPG material, such as rulesets, settings, or adventures.
- Commitment: Selected projects are required to run their crowdfunding campaign on GameFound and deliver a final physical book of at least 24 pages.
Timeline:
- Open Call for Submissions: Closes June 2nd.
- Preview Campaign Creation: Selected projects will begin developing their preview pages after June 2nd.
- Preview Page Publishing: All preview pages are scheduled to be live by July.
- Crowdfunding Launch: Projects are slated to launch on GameFound in August.
The “RPG Party” initiative aims to provide creators with industry connections, mentorship, strategic guidance, and marketing funds to support their crowdfunding campaigns.
