Digital platform Demiplane launched the official Fabula Ultima NEXUS character builder and digital compendium platform on 16 July 2026. The digital toolset, co-developed with Italian publisher NEED Games, brings the award-winning Japanese-style console-inspired tabletop roleplaying game into an integrated online environment.
The release gives players access to a digital character sheet, character creator, and searchable rules library spanning multiple official books. Tabletop players who already own the digital editions via DriveThruRPG can claim a 50% discount on matching digital bundles, while original crowdfunding backers receive automated access to their content.
The toolset launches with a suite of core books available immediately. Players can access the Core Rulebook, Press Start quickstart rules, Load Game introductory assets, the Game Master’s Toolkit, and the Atlas: High Fantasy expansion. These digital editions integrate directly with the responsive character builder, automatically updating character capabilities as choices are made.
Several upcoming supplements are also available for pre-order on the platform. These include the Atlas: Techno Fantasy, Atlas: Natural Fantasy, and Bestiary Vol. I. Pre-ordering these titles secures instant digital integration upon their respective release dates.
A premium subscription option is available for under $5 a month. This tier allows users to build an unlimited number of characters and share their unlocked digital rulebooks with up to 24 separate players, reducing the financial barrier for an entire gaming group.
The growing bridge between once competitive digital marketplaces is the core takeaway from this release. Roll20 is explicitly leveraging its ownership of both Demiplane and DriveThruRPG to create a unified ecosystem, addressing a long-standing complaint among digital tabletop players who resent paying full price multiple times for the same book across different platforms. By implementing a permanent, direct-confirmation link that verifies a player’s DriveThruRPG library to slash the price of interactive Demiplane toolsets by half, the parent company is positioning this system as a direct response to customer fatigue with fractured digital libraries.
