Axis Prime, based in Berlin, are on Kickstarter with a remarkable dice tower. I use the word “remarkable” with confidence; it’s a dice tower that people will comment on.
The pirate skull looks set to cross the campaign funding target today, which leaves 24 days left for the curious to succumb to temptation. You can join those backers from the pitch page.
The story for the campaign is mainly all about the pirate… and that might be because the rest of the project is all production. Perhaps that’s less interesting.
The tower is wood and plastic. Not a real skull. The finishing is done with ecological leather. I’m not entirely sure that is, and perhaps vegetarians might be ruled out, but the nod to the environment is welcomed.
A note of caution is that the pirate skull in the video and gifs looks better than what’s on offer. You’re not getting any costumes with your tower. Axis Prime note;
You can adjust the appearance to your needs. A pirate can become a skeleton, an orc, a warrior in just a few moments. It all depends on your imagination
The pledge levels are simple. The early bird sold out in a flash. If you want a skull as a reward for supporting this project, you need to pledge €59, which is about £50, and then prepare for shipping in the region of €12 for Europe and €16 for everywhere else.
Fulfilment is expected this year, and the skull will be packed in styrofoam.

This project appears to be a scam. Zero communication for over a month. No attempt to address comcerns of backers. Deadlines missed. Check out the comments on their Kickstarter campaign page for more.
Well, drats. I backed! I must admit; I wasn’t worried about a lack of updates. 1 a month is fine. But I do see all the comments from worried people.
