Real life Iron Man gauntlet fires effective lasers

January 20, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This Iron Man gauntlet is capable of bursting ballons with its lasers. That’s pretty impressive for lasers powered just by standard batteries, batteries small enough to fit into the design of the gauntlet. The set up was built by Patrick Priebe of Laser Gadgets. Via Obvious Winner.

Picture this… Skull Iron Man

December 26, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This skull Iron Man is a render by Songqijin. The title is “Biochemical Iron Man” which seems fitting. Hard to tell whether we’re looking an Avenger or a Dark Avenger in this picture.

Steampunk Iron Man can be yours; working arc reactor

December 21, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

How’s that for a design? This fantastic picture is actually a t-shirt design from Chasing Artwork. You can buy it for $30 from their Big Cartel shop and there’s an added extra. It comes with a fully functional arc reactor; a small, battery powered, LED light on a string. The arc reactor is designed to […]

Heroes United trailer

October 14, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This is a quirky combination but it’ll probably work: Hulk and Iron Man. The two team up in Marvel’s Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United. It’s an original animated movie from Marvel due out in April 2013. Hulk and Iron Man go head to head against Zzzax, Abomination, Wendigos and others after HYDRA scientists meddle […]

Stan Lee Media sues Disney for $5.5 Billion

October 10, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood 3 Comments

Let’s write out all the zeroes Stan Lee Media are hoping to take off Disney. It’s $5,500,000,000. Hmm. Tasty. The grounds of the case are pretty straight forward (unless you start to get too legal). Stan Lee Media claim ownership over all the characters that Stan Lee ever invented. This means they want cash from […]

The Justice League and The Avengers as chambara samurai

September 30, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The word “Chambara” is used to describe a genre of movies in Japan with the focus on sword fighting. They’re very often samurai peroid pieces set somewhere between 1600 and 1868. Talented deviant artist Alex Mitchell must have wondered what some of America’s most famous superheroes; the Justice League and The Avengers would look like […]

Picture this… Tim Burton’s The Avengers

September 28, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Imagine if Tim Burton had created The Avengers. What would Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow look like? As it happens, Tim Burton certainly didn’t create and probably has never drawn The Avengers. However, deviant artist Xenia Rassolova, a talented 18 year old from Canada, has and she has adopted […]

Steampunk Iron Man meets Sherlock Holmes

July 25, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Robert Downey Jr is both Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man. Over on Deviant Art, Daaakota succumbed to the urge to draw Sherlock Holmes meeting Iron Man, and I’m glad. With two characters from different times it was also the ideal chance to consider what a steampunk Iron Man might be like too.
