Star Wars Day: Femme Fett

May 3, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Boba Fett cosplays are generally top notch. The bounty hunter isn’t an easy challenge given his armour, jet pack and blaster. This cosplayer had just the same level of challenge, this femme version of Boba Fett is complete with a ball gown and I wouldn’t be surprised to find a weapon in that bag. May […]

May 3, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This short animation from Andy Dupont casts a little alien in the role of planet watcher. He has to try and save his home from a dangerous space threat. There’s even touches of steampunk, perhaps gearpunk, in here too. Geek tip: Use this random teleport link as a quick way to load up another short […]

Freaky Pan’s Labyrinth cosplay

May 2, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Canadian cosplayer Melanie Colley brought Pan’s Labyrinth’s surreal Faun character back to this reality. This cosplay is freaky but I think it’s freaky in the good way. I’m sure the director would approve. Melanie detailed the steps in creating the piece. It wasn’t easy! You can see more on Cosplay.com.

Clap for the Claptrap trashcan

May 2, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Claptrap is the friendly and funny robot from the Borderlands computer game. The little fellow oozes charisma and won me over within the first few minutes of gameplay. I’m not the only one and the web is full of Claptrap fans. That said, the geeks at Our Nerd Home are experts at turning fandom into […]

I was in at the deep end for Eureka Seven AO as it’s the sequel to Eureka Seven, which I haven’t seen. The good news is that I followed Eureka Seven AO without any bother. If there’s clever overlaps, foreshadowing or flashbacks to the original then they’re sailing right on by without disrupting my AO […]
