X-Men: Days of Future Past UK trailer

March 25, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

Frustrated that most of the X-Men: Days of Future past trailers that hit the web yesterday were locked to geographic locations? Here in the UK we couldn’t watch most of the uploads. There is good news though – 20th Century Fox UK have an official copy. It shows a future in which geo-tarding of YouTube […]

Bloody good: A review of Kieron Gillen’s Uber

March 24, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Blood, gore, super-powers and the Nazis; what a heady mix. Uber is set at what would have been the tail end of World War II. There’s just one catch. The Nazis have just released their final secret weapon – super soldiers. These “Wunderwafen” are brutal. Uber pulls no punches. The pages of this full colour […]

Pan’s Labyrinth in LEGO

March 24, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 3 Comments

LEGO builder The Deathly Halliwell is packed with talent. He’s a builder able to engineer complex structures and bring to life fanciful visions. The Brothers Brick noticed this Pan’s Labyrinth pair. It’s the Faun and the Pale Man. Scary and good.

Diablo: The Evil Prime cosplay glows with dark intelligence

March 24, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

How’s this for a Diablo III tribute? I’m so impressed by Krizdel Ingreso’s cosplay. She made this herself. All of it. The design, the structure, the point job and even the electronics to make it glow. Photography credits to Jannibee Buhat, Pefdgraphy & Elijah Alcantara.

Daring Comics Role-Playing Game

March 24, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I like Daring Entertainment’s open and honest pitch for the Daring Comics RPG. They say things like; Keep in mind, a Kickstarter is not a product pre-order. You are pledging money that will go into actual book production so that we can get it into your hands and into retail. Which means that each Backer […]

Out of that world: A review of Ecko Rising

March 24, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Ecko Rising starts off as a near future cyberpunk. We’re dealing with a dystopian society, evil corporations, the resistance and medical treatments that can make you believe you’re in a totally different world. The story genre-hops. It flicks to a totally different world. Is it real? Is it virtual reality? There are touches of the […]

March 24, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Want one? Tempted? You too can have an Avengers octopus because you can visit the Octopodes Garden on Etsy. You’ll have to wait, though. The queue for these handmade wonders is so long that Darcy has had to put a pause on new orders. Captain America Iron Man Loki Thor

The King of Cakes: Game of Thrones

March 24, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

Is this the most complex and impressive Game of Thrones cake we’ve seen yet? The Cake of Ice and Fire was shared to Imgur which prompted one Redditor to suggest the piece was part of “That Takes the Cake” this Feburary. You’ll see some of the House Crests on teh cake, dragon eggs and the […]

Cosplay highlights from London Super Comic Con 2014

March 23, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

Sneaky Zebra make a great cosplay video. Hard to tell them apart? In this video watch for a few special effects such as the Captain America shield, my favourite, and some sweeping camera movements. It looks like Excel in London is a good venue too. It’s not so crowded you can barely move.
