Star Wars Day: Star Wars Lightsaber lollies

May 4, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

These are new to me! Ice lollies that look like lightsabers. They’re sold by Tesco and probably other retailers in two flavours; strawberry and lemon and lime. In other words; Yoda and Darth flavour. The good news is that they’re suitable for vegeterians but may contain nuts! I think they work well as mini lightsabers. […]

Star Wars Day: Love is Cake

May 4, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Created by the talented Helen at Love is Cake. Star Wars cupcakes aren’t new but these are especially good loooking ones. The quality of the spaceships is high – oh, and look, an explosion behind the Tie fighter.

TARDIS control room cosplay

May 4, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

We’ve seen some impressive TARDIS designs in the past including some TARDIS ballgowns, some made from velvet and even a Little Blue Tardis Riding Hood but I think this is the first cosplay / dress of the inside of the TARDIS. In particular, this is a glowing, control room dress. Via Facebook and Fashionably Geek.

The amazing Escherian stairwell illusion video and the myth

May 3, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood 40 Comments

Check out this poor quality but interesting video. It looks like LiveLeak has dug up some old video of some remarkable design. Got to wonder how such an incredible set of stairs was built and you might even wonder why you’ve never heard of the Escherian Stairwell in building 7 in Rochester before? The answer […]

Star Wars Day: Think Geek’s May the 4th coupon

May 3, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

May 3, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

You may have already noticed some Star Wars Day inspired posts on Geek Native. In fact, the blog’s Star Wars feed is pretty healthy. You may well guess that there will be plenty of Star Wars posts tomorrow, on May the 4th, even if it’s also Free Comic Book Day. In the interests of showing […]

Numenera goes on pre-order with big discount

May 3, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Monte Cook’s latest setting Numenera has the weight of the world on it. The RPG was announced last year, after Cook had quit the DnD Next project. The Kickstarter asked for $20,000 and raised $517,255 from 4,658 backers. Bigger money followed. As a “sequel” to Planescape: Torment, Brian Fargo and inXile, launched Torment: Tides of […]

The Walking Droids

May 3, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This design hits the spot. Okay, it’s a spot far far away from the humdrum and mainstream life style but it’s still a spot. This is a Star Wars meets the Walking Dead spot. Rather than having two armless zombies on a rope, this clever Jawa has two armless droids. Hence: The Walking Droids. These […]
