I’ve seen some bold attempts to bring game-changing tech to the tabletop roleplaying hobby via Kickstarter before. Some look great. Some, I think, look like dead projects walking. Then there’s the GameChanger from Richard Woodfield and Splendiferous Press. Frankly I’m not sure what to make of this one. So here’s the pitch video, with loud […]
Retro style: SNES headphones
These headphones were a custom creation. They’re worth every Euro spent on them, provided you don’t have a problem with people grabbing your head as a joke. What do you think? Would you wear these? The retro-style SNES headphones were shared with IMGUR with a simple note; My buddy just got this custom-made piece of […]
Unreal Engine 4: Temple of Time
This is a geeky cred project. A few months ago Michael Eurek was challenged by a friend to take a classic game and use modern technology to recreate the game world environment. The result is Temple of Time. Eurek uses Unreal Engine 4 to revuild The Temple of Time from The Legend of Zelda. What […]
The drone orchestra performs for you
Is the future here? This orchestra of drones play a cracking cover of the Space Odyssey theme. I know nothing about music so forgive me when I say “the drones even manage to do the slidy bits” perfectly. With one success under their wings these squad of dronecopters then move on to master some other […]
Cute, clever but anger prone robot dinosaur pet
As someone who shares a flat with a Pleo I’m interested in Boomer. This robot dinosaur looks to be rather quicker and a little more fierce. In particular, Boomer has an angry “chase” mode in which he goes after whoever annoyed it. The best way to annoy the little T-Rex bot? Pull his tail.
Review of the Gadget Show Live 2014
This year it is the Gadget Show’s 10th birthday and the Gadget Show Live reflected that. Having discussed the event with friends who went I’ll admit it’s divided opinions but I liked it this year and I’ll tell you why. The Gadget Show expo felt diverse this year. Previously, I’ve noted that the expo has […]
Real life Cyclops X-men glasses
I suppose these are actually the very opposite of Cyclops’ glasses in that they enable you to shoot lasers from your eyes rather than prevent lasers shooting from your eyes. Normally, Laser Gadgets are happy to hand out blueprints to their designs. Not this time. This time it’s too dangerous.
Competition: Highly collectible Kaiju USB memory stick
There are two different competitions in this post. Both support this Kickstarter from UMD to produce a series of Kaiju themed memory sticks. The first competition is for anyone who backs the Kickstarter project with $2 or more. Leave a note when you donate that you came from Geek Native and you’ll have a chance […]
Steampunk BioShock Infinite headphones
These headphones are a custom job by Edge Works on deviant art. They began life as Aerial 7 Tank Headphones, described as good looking, comfortable and with massive 57mm drivers and then converted with sharpies into a “BioShock Infinite steampunked style”. What do you think? Time to take sharpies to your headphones?
Steampunk pirate laptop cover
Artist Andy Skinner decided to give his old laptop a facelift. He used Decoart Media and Mediums and this is the result. The Oxford based designer has managed to create a steampunk pirate style cover that turns the ageing laptop into a work of art. Impressive stuff. You can follow Andy on Google+.
