Warner Bros says that Christopher Nolan’s Tenet will be in cinemas from the 17th of July.
Tenet, the word, is a palindrome which means a belief or principle. It’s my belief that Nolan likes to tease audiences without telling them very much about the film.
In this trailer, we can see John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman, Ballers) as the Protagonist (capital P, according to Warner) in some sort of time (don’t say travelling) sci-fi. Time inversion is the point. Time can flow backwards.
We also get lots of Robert Pattinson in this trailer. I suspect fans will find it easier to imagine him as Bruce Wayne after these clips. Another Batman connected actor, Michael Caine also appears.
Elizabeth Debicki (Ayesha from Guardians of the Galaxy) also seems to have an essential role in the film and an intriguing character.
So, what’s going on? Forces from the future seem to be meddling in the present day. They can likely do this through inversion. That’s why our Protagonist gets caught up and why he encounters evidence of violence that is yet to happen.
