Tower of God is a hugely popular series from Korea. It’s coming to the West via Crunchyroll and their new Crunchyroll Originals series. The first trailer was out at the start of the month and now we’ve a second that introduces some of the characters.
Just how popular is Tower of God? WEBTOON has recorded 4.5 billion views of the series. That’s an incredibly huge number.
The main character is called Bam, full name Twenty-Fifth Bam, who goes into the magical and deadly tower to follow Rachel. Inside the tower people are rated; ‘Regular’ if their normal and unimportant in tower standards, ‘Rankers’ who are powerful and local leaders and then those of the ’10 Great Families’.
Bam and Rachel, though, are ranked as ‘Irregular’ as they’re from outside the tower and not bound by some of the deals in place.
These are some of the supporting characters we meet in the trailer.
Endorsi Jahad
Endorsi is powerful but only a Regular, despite being one of the Princesses of Jahad.
Anaak Jahad
Lizard-like in appearance, complete with a tail, Anaak is very strong and wields “The Green April” a legendary “13 Month Series” weapon given to her by King Jahad.
Khun Aguero Agnes
One of the first friends Bam makes and originally one from one the “10 Families”. Khun is a strong fighter and a strategist but caught up in the politics of the tower.
Rak Wraithraiser
Sometimes called Gator, Rak is a proud warrior and a hot-head. Rak teams up with Khun and Bam.
Yuri Jahad
Yuri is another of the Jahad princesses and a High Ranker. Yuri also has one of the legendary weapons, this one known as “The Black March”. Interested in Bam due to his position as an Irregular, she loans him the powerful item.
