Free League Publishing is celebrating the release of Symbar – Mother of Darkness by making the core Symbaroum RPG rules free for a day.
The offer is at DriveThruRPG. It expires on Thursday the 30th.
Symbaroum, usually priced at $24.99 for a download, is a dark fantasy RPG. It’s a dark and gloomy world. If you’re familiar with the grime and corruption of old Warhammer, or the brutal mechanics of some OSRs, or even the looming shadow of the Dark Side from Star Wars or the taint of The One Ring, then you’ll have a feel for Symbaroum.
Paul Baldowski reviewed the game in 2016 for Geek Native and liked the darkness.
The game offers fast-paced and flexible rules for creating PCs, five different playable races, three archetypes divided into 15 different occupations to build characters around. There are 35 abilities, 25 mystical powers and 33 rituals. The core rules present over 30 monsters and enemies and more than 50 pages describing the world.
