Tanner Yarro, of Yarro Studios, and the mastermind behind the $1 million dollars immersive battle maps has a new idea.
The immersive battle maps are clever because they use an old photography studio trick to produce flat battle maps that fold out from books. The spine of the book doesn’t create a curve to wobble miniatures off, it lays flat.
In the latest update to the Kickstarter, which is mid-way through shipping, Tanner has shown off a new concept called forever dungeons.
The dungeon is held between two scrolling wheels which turn and twist to allow 20 feet of a dungeon to scroll by on your tabletop.
How long are 20 feet? This is how the dungeon looks when it is stretched out.
There’s no suggestion from Yarro that he’s about to start selling the forever dungeon. The stress and strain of dealing with a $1 million dollar Kickstarter, with huge books shipping first from China and then all around the world, must be draining enough. However, it’s pleasing to see that the spirit of innovation is still there.
And who knows; perhaps the forever dungeon will appear on Kickstarter next year?
