Crystal Dynamics, Flying Wild Hog, and Amazon Game Studios debuted a new teaser video for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis at the TR30 Tomb Raider Day gathering at Derby QUAD on Saturday, 24 October 2026. The promotional push marks the franchise’s 30th anniversary, pairing fresh footage of the upcoming single-player remake with community-led musical initiatives across YouTube and streaming platforms.
The release anchors a broader anniversary push that includes the Tomb Raider: 30th Anniversary Lo-Fi Collection by Norwegian community artist That Norsk Chick, alongside an archive preservation effort led by fan site The Music of Tomb Raider. While the video spotlights visual upgrades to classic encounters, including the iconic battle against the Tyrannosaurus Rex in the Peruvian valley, the event highlighted the franchise’s enduring bond with Derby, the East Midlands city where Core Design originally built the series.

The Derby connection and franchise heritage
Revealing footage in Derby carries genuine local weight, not corporate indifference. Core Design created Tomb Raider in the city thirty years ago, establishing an industrial identity that Derby embraced permanently when it named an inner ring road Lara Croft Way in 2010.
Derby’s connection to the British adventurer reached another milestone recently when a £33,000 public fundraising campaign ensured a permanent Lara Croft statue secured Derby Market Hall as its home. Premiering the footage at Derby QUAD, a stone’s throw from the Market Hall, firmly roots the American and Polish development teams back into the English town where Toby Gard and the original team coded the first game.
Remaking the 1996 debut
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a full ground-up reimagining of Lara Croft’s original expedition to find the lost Scion of Atlantis. The production pairs veteran franchise custodian Crystal Dynamics with Warsaw-based studio Flying Wild Hog, best known for fast-paced shooters like Shadow Warrior and Evil West.
Actor Alix Wilton Regan takes on the role of Lara Croft, replacing Survivor trilogy actor Camilla Luddington and providing a seasoned voice for the English archaeologist. The production promises modernised movement, rewritten traversal puzzles, and cinematic set pieces, moving away from the 1996 release’s isolated, grid-based platforming in favour of fluid, contemporary movement rules.
Grassroots audio collaborations
Alongside the game teaser, the publishers launched the Tomb Raider: 30th Anniversary Lo-Fi Collection on YouTube, scheduled for release on Spotify and other digital services soon. Produced by long-time creator That Norsk Chick, who first gained prominence producing fan parodies in 2008 before composing the TR25 album Lara’s Home, the record follows the character across the Survivor series, the Core Design era, and the Legend trilogy.
The compilation samples voice lines recorded by Alix Wilton Regan and remixes score compositions from franchise veterans, including Nathan McCree, Peter Connelly, Martin Iveson, Troels B. Folmann, Colin O’Malley, Jason Graves, Bobby Tahouri, Brian D’Oliveira, Wilbert Roget, II, and Paul Houseman. The project’s visuals feature custom illustrations and lo-fi animation created by community artist Tholia.
To complement the contemporary remixes, Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics partnered with fan archivist Harry Hinds from The Music of Tomb Raider. The team plans to release more than 500 catalogued soundtrack files onto streaming platforms over the coming weeks, publishing dozens of regional and classic cues onto major music streaming networks for the first time.
