The complete line-up of conductors, choirs, and vocal soloists has been announced for the upcoming 25th-anniversary arena tour of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in Concert. Beginning in October 2026, the production will visit Dublin, London, Glasgow, Manchester, and Birmingham. The events feature Peter Jackson‘s film projected on a 60-foot screen while more than 200 musicians perform Howard Shore’s Academy Award-winning score live to picture.
Ludwig Wicki, who conducted the world’s first live concert performance of The Lord of the Rings in 2008, returns to lead the Dublin and London shows. For the London date at The O2 on Sunday, 29 November, he will be joined by vocal soloist Kaitlyn Lusk, a veteran performer of Shore’s live arrangements for over a decade. The tour pairs these experienced core musicians with regional orchestras and choirs in each city.
The Scottish leg of the tour arrives at the Glasgow OVO Hydro on Sunday, 6 December. Ben Phelps will conduct the Royal Scottish National Orchestra alongside the RSNO Chorus and RSNO Youth Chorus, with Kaitlyn Lusk again taking on the soloist role. This marks the first time the live film production has visited Glasgow, offering fans in the capital and across the central belt a straightforward train ride to experience the event.
The Manchester Co-op Live and Birmingham bp pulse LIVE dates will be conducted by Shih-Hung Young, featuring vocal soloist Eleanor Grant alongside the Trinity Boys Choir. Manchester’s performance features the Hallé Orchestra on Saturday, 12 December, while Birmingham brings in the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, 19 December. The Dublin 3Arena performance opens the tour on Sunday, 11 October with soloist Grace Davidson and the Irish Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
