Oxford-based publisher and video game studio Rebellion has unveiled an extensive slate of licensing partnerships for 2000 AD and Judge Dredd, timing the commercial rollout alongside Day of Dredd on 3 October 2026. The programme targets global retail expansion ahead of the comic’s 50th anniversary in 2027, introducing collaborations across fashion, consumer electronics, action figures, and collectables.
The initial consumer drop sees British streetwear label Palace Skateboards launch a collaborative 2000 AD clothing collection, inspired by an original comic strip set in Mega-City One. Concurrently, Rebellion confirmed development deals with American toy manufacturer Nacelle and Oni Press for an action figure line crossing Judge Dredd with the 1990s animated television property Biker Mice From Mars, ahead of formal trade presentations at Brand Licensing Europe in London and New York Comic Con.

Mega-City One Meets British Streetwear

The Palace Skateboards collaboration bridges two distinct counter-cultural British exports. To introduce the clothing collection, 2000 AD writer Liam Johnson and artist Jake Lynch created a promotional digital strip published via Palace’s social channels. The short story frames a fictional Palace flagship outlet opening directly on the hostile streets of Mega-City One, pulling Judge Dredd into commercial confrontation with queueing streetwear buyers.
The move highlights how Rebellion uses established bullpen talent to validate corporate licensing partnerships directly within comic lore. Putting real-world branding into Mega-City One stands out: John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra created the strip in 1977 as a satire of unchecked consumer culture and municipal violence.
Transatlantic Crossovers at Brand Licensing Europe and NYCC
Rebellion will showcase its physical licensing portfolio to commercial buyers at Brand Licensing Europe at London’s ExCeL from 6 to 8 October, before bringing the showcase to New York Comic Con.
The primary reveal involves a joint venture with Nacelle and Oni Press, linking Judge Dredd with Biker Mice From Mars. The project encompasses both a comic crossover and a dedicated toy line. Pairing British sci-fi law enforcement with American Saturday-morning cartoons suggests a strategy tailored to North American toy collectors and 1990s nostalgia buyers.
The commercial activity coincides with Day of Dredd celebrations across the UK comic trade. Physical events include central signing sessions hosted by Forbidden Planet, as reported in Geek Native’s coverage of the Day of Dredd 2026 signing lineup.
Under founders Jason Kingsley CBE and Chris Kingsley CBE, Rebellion continues repositioning 2000 AD from a specialist print comic into an adaptable intellectual property catalogue. With Atomfall surpassing 3.7 million players, Duncan Jones’s animated Rogue Trooper feature film seeking distribution, and Alien Deathstorm slated for 2027, the studio’s licensing push is designed to secure retail visibility well before the comic’s 50th milestone.
