Toei Animation will launch Dragon Ball Super: Beerus on Crunchyroll across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on 11 October 2026. The production remasters the opening arc of the long-running television anime, introducing redrawn cuts, updated animation, and a reconstructed plot based on the original manga and character concepts created by the late Akira Toriyama.

The weekly subtitled simulcast will run alongside the Japanese terrestrial broadcast schedule, giving international viewers immediate access to the revised episodes. The release centres on the God of Destruction Beerus story, which originally launched the 2015 television series following the theatrical debut of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.
Visual Remaster and Story Adjustments
The production features newly created sequences and redrawn animation cuts to update the visual presentation of the original run. Toei Animation has rearranged the events into a reconstructed storyline, aiming to align the broadcast more closely with the manga source material.

The plot takes place several years after the defeat of Majin Buu. With Earth experiencing a brief spell of peace, the God of Destruction Beerus awakens from decades of sleep. After hearing reports of a Saiyan who managed to defeat the galactic tyrant Frieza, Beerus tracks down Goku, sparking a conflict that puts the entire planet at risk.
Production Credits and Regional Availability

The project emerges after the passing of franchise creator Akira Toriyama in March 2024. While the promotional material notes that the restructuring adheres to Toriyama’s core vision, the formal announcement does not name the specific supervising director or scriptwriters leading the studio’s editorial revisions.
The initial rollout concentrates strictly on the opening Beerus arc rather than the entire 131-episode run of Dragon Ball Super. Crunchyroll has confirmed subtitled coverage for EMEA, though details on English-language dubbing and streaming plans for North American audiences remain unannounced.
