Berlin design studio SIXMOREVODKA and artist-author Marko Djurdjevic will launch their original fantasy world, Orken, at the 60th anniversary edition of Lucca Comics & Games in Italy, running from 28 October to 1 November 2026. The Tuscan festival marks the first time European audiences can buy physical volumes from the publishing line in person, completing a nine-year journey after Djurdjevic first revealed early concept illustrations on the Lucca stage in 2017.
The appearance represents Djurdjevic’s first major world-building venture since SIXMOREVODKA ceased publication of its flagship post-apocalyptic title Degenesis in 2021. Rather than confining the project to print, the team has built Orken as an active cross-media property spanning novels, illustrated setting sourcebooks, art collections, and an action video game. The digital release currently features a free standalone PC demo on Steam, supported by a crowdfunding campaign that raised €250,881 from 1,384 backers earlier in 2026.
Set in the world of Edom, the setting deliberately discards classic high-fantasy tropes separating civilised humans from brutal monsters. The central plot explores an uncompromising first contact between two capable societies: the Khar, indigenous inhabitants rooted in Edom for centuries, and the Elemon, an expansionist, industrial human empire crossing the sea after stripping their home continent of natural resources. SIXMOREVODKA frames the conflict through shifting perspectives across soldiers, commanders, and families on both sides, examining conquest, cultural survival, and how groups rationalise violence.
Marko Djurdjevic, artist-author at SIXMOREVODKA, said in a statement,
Lucca is the best convention I have ever attended: Organisation and atmosphere, people, weather, food, the city itself, it all creates the perfect backdrop to launch a new product. Nine years ago I was fortunate enough to be invited and present the first concepts for Orken, and now, in 2026, my journey is completed and I can finally show to the public what I’ve been building for all these years. It’s a pleasure to complete this long marathon where it once started, and I’m eager to see the audience responding to it after so many years of waiting.”
Emanuele Vietina, Director at Lucca Comics & Games, said in a statement,
We are very happy to have participated in the Orken Journey from its origin. In 2017, Marko Djurdjevic presented Orken for the first time in Lucca, bringing concept art and revealing characters for the first time. We have seen it grow through the years, to become an incredible, compelling and fully realised fantasy world. Marko is a great artist, launching an independent innovative IP, Lucca Comics & Games is proud to be part of this success story, which truly showcases the festival as a creative hub for world makers and the perfect platform for other creatives to launch their game properties.”
The shift from roleplaying games to a cross-media model signals an intentional change in SIXMOREVODKA’s commercial direction. While Degenesis: Rebirth earned critical praise for its dense visual identity, the studio made its entire digital library free in 2020 before ending physical distribution when the economics of standalone tabletop roleplaying game books grew untenable. By developing Orken as a parallel release across trade paperbacks, collector hardcovers, and a real-time digital game, Djurdjevic is bypassing tabletop rulesets to build an intellectual property untethered from pen-and-paper system balance.
Lucca Comics & Games is huge, and runs across the historic walled city of Lucca from Wednesday 28 October through Sunday 1 November 2026, with general admission tickets opening on 1 September after an early-bird allocation.
More information on the physical releases and digital previews is available on the official Orken website and the Steam demo page.
