R. Talsorian Games has officially opened pre-orders for Night City 2045, a 312-page definitive guide to the iconic setting of the Cyberpunk RED roleplaying games.

Scheduled for a digital release on 17 June 2026, the sourcebook provides exhaustive detail on the geography, government, and street-level factions of the “Time of the Red,” with physical copies beginning to ship exactly one week later on 24 June.
The launch marks a critical pivot for the publisher, coinciding with a much-needed restock of the Cyberpunk RED Core Rulebook. The core rulebook has been a “ghost” in the retail market, out of stock since Summer 2025, leaving a year-long vacuum in the game’s ecosystem. By tethering the new sourcebook to this replenishment, R. Talsorian is attempting to stabilise a community that has been surviving on digital-only options for nearly twelve months.
The contributor list for Night City 2045 moves beyond internal development, featuring an industry “power list” that signals a more nuanced approach to the setting’s socio-economic landscape. Chris Spivey, the award-winning creator of Haunted West, is credited with sections on Downtown and South Night City, while Steve Kenson, the architect behind Mutants & Masterminds, developed the New Westbrook district. Perhaps most tellingly, Graeme Barber, known for his deep work on cultural deconstruction in games, was assigned to “Watson Development” – an area of the city defined by corporate gentrification.
Other high-calibre contributors include J Gray, James Hutt, Alison Cybe, Anne Morrison, Crystal Mazur, Eddy Webb, Fernando Damas, Frances Stewart, Linda M Evans, Melissa Wong, Michael MacDonald, N Jolly, Rachel Savicki, Trace Wilson, and Tsuneo Tateno. The project was overseen by additional development from the setting’s creator, Mike Pondsmith.
While the lore is extensive, covering 24 districts and over 600 locations, the launch is also defined by a complex “integration war” between virtual platforms. A partnership with Demiplane offers a Cyberpunk RED NEXUS version that includes a free Roll20 map add-on for pre-orders, featuring a new “Map Pin” feature to automate exploration. However, fans seeking a physical/digital bundle must navigate a fragmented discount system: a 50% PDF discount is only available via the Talsorian webstore, while local game stores remain the exclusive source for free PDF bundles through the Bits & Mortar programme.
For players attending the Origins Game Fair 2026 in Columbus, Ohio, the publisher has confirmed an “Origins Pick-up” option. Attendees can secure physical copies in person with a confirmation invoice, bypassing the standard shipping wait.
The release is accompanied by a free crossover digital supplement with the indie video game VA-11 HALL-A, produced by Sukeban Games. This DLC introduces characters such as Jill and Stella into the roleplaying games’ continuity, alongside gear from the fictional Hammered Industries.
