Offensive PlayStation Move ad banned in the UK

A post for PlayStation Move has been banned by the British Advertising Standards Authority. The regulator had recieved complaints that the poster was offensive and inappropriate for public display. The text on the post read; “Move into the fight £34.00 RRP! PlayStation move, the game is just the start…” but the picture showed someone about to get his face punched in.

The poster recieved a grand total of eight complaints about the graphic violence. Concerns were raised that it would encourage violent behaviour.

The ASA rejected concerns that the poster showed a racist attack. Sony UK told press that the poster was supposed to advertise the Move, not the game and that it had taken steps to ensure the images were not graphic.
