Wizards employee charged with $45,000 Magic: the Gathering theft

Donald J. Henry, 26 year-old and once employed by Wizards of the Cost, has had felony theft charges filed against him by King County prosecutors.

It is alleged that Henry stole hundreds of rare Magic: the Gathering cards worth over $45,000 from Wizard’s Renton headquarters.

A report in Seattle PI says that the theft was discovered when a friend of the alleged thief tried to sell the cards at a Magic tournament in Portland.

Suspicions were raised by another Wizards employee at the tournament who noticed the large number of rare cards being promoted for sale.

Donald J. Henry has been charged with first-degree theft but not jailed.
