Geek Native’s Andrew Girdwood and Bronwen Winter Phoenix will both be at Scotland’s Festival of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Writing Cymera in June.
That’s good news for us as Chaosium’s Lynne Hardy is also going.

Lynne, who is the associate editor for Call of Cthulhu and a big part of Rivers of London, will be running an in-person workshop called Hitting the Right Note.
While Cymera is about writing, there’s plenty of TTRPG in it, and this workshop is about how to make sure your players have agency in scenarios.
As a bonus, Lynne will assist attendees in understanding how to use historical events, locations, and figures to inspire and create engaging plots, along with providing suggestions on how to get their work published.
The Cymera Festival is an annual event that unites authors of speculative fiction for engaging discussions about their work through a series of author panels. The festival showcases a diverse lineup of writers, ranging from celebrated figures in the genre to newly published debut authors. For those attending in person, all panels are also streamed live for online participants. Additionally, a dedicated program of digital-only panels allows authors unable to travel to Edinburgh to participate.
Beyond the author panels and signings, the Cymera Festival weekend offers a wealth of activities for both readers and writers. These include the yearly Cymera Quiz, live theatrical performances, book launch celebrations, charity auctions, and informative Q&A sessions focused on the speculative fiction, fantasy, and horror (SFFH) publishing industry, among other events.
