The Last of Us is doing great; its TV series has landed amazingly well. Here’s hoping it’ll cease to be exclusive in due course.
New data from JustWatch shows that it may be an outlier.
The jinx that seemed to stop people from making good adaptations of computer games is broken. That’s not what makes The Last of Us unusual. The series is quirky because people like it, and it’s not an animation.
Compare JustWatch popularity data (generally taken from searches), and you’ll see the post-apocalyptic series surrounded by anime, often anime adaptations. League of Legends Arcane reigns supreme.
It’s a different story for movies, though. I’ll have to refresh myself as to what the Prince of Persia movie was like. I recall the game but not the big picture. Rampage, I thought, was underrated in both game and Rock-movie form!
