I’m not entirely sure what I make of Lupin the Third in CGI, and I don’t know Cat’s Eye at all, but I’ll absolutely agree that these familiar characters look spot-on in the new format. It’s the gang!
The crossover is to celebrate Lupin III’s 50th anniversary and Cat’s Eye hitting 40. I don’t yet see the video on Amazon Prime, but they have the worldwide exclusive, and the premiere is in January.
Kobun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita, who worked together on Godzilla: Planet of the Monster, are working on the project at TMS Entertainment.

- Rui Kisugi voiced by Rica Fukami (Minako in Sailor Moon)
- Ai Kisugi voiced by Chika Sakamoto (Mei in My Neighbor Totoro)
- Toshio Utsumi voiced by Yoshito Yasuhara (Kadokura in Golden Kamuy)
- Nagaishi voiced by Mugihito (Kaseki in Dr. STONE)
Lupin is the grandson of the infamous gentleman thief of the same name, always chased by dogged police and now with a crew of talented and quirky characters as allies.
Tsukasa Hojo’s Cat’s Eye manga follows three sisters who work in a cafe during the day and are legendary art thieves at night.
