You’ll notice the music in this video for the upcoming TV animation based on Shuuichi Shigeno’s MF Ghost manga. The trailer is called Eurobeat.
So, that’s the music! The plot is set in a time when self-driving cars are ordinary in Japan. That’s, er, the 2020s according to the anime, which is only a few years old and, who knows, it might be right. After topping his racing school class in England, our hero is Kanata Livington, who returns to Japan.
The anime is slated for 2023, which no longer feels that far away and will be directed by Sword Gai: The Animation and Initial D Legend: Racer’s Tomohito Naka. Felix Film is at the wheel.
The promotional poster for Ghost FM shows Kanata’s car – a Toyota 86, and I’m afraid that means little to me.
The two rival cars visible in the background are an Alpine A110S and a Nissan GT-R.
