The US store Hot Topic is all about pop and geek culture, and the site has no shortage of goodies.
To help guide shoppers and to fight back the gremlins of choice paralysis, Hot Topic has a list of trending items at the bottom of most pages. In the last few days, an online exclusive Critical Role lap desk has been chief among them.
There’s not much detail in the picture, but a lap desk is typically a cushion on one side, although not always, and a tray on top. You might use it to put your food in front of you while you’re watching Critical Role or your laptop there. Sometimes, the indent at the back can prop up smartphones or put pencils.
This new lap desk has had one review, a 5/5, which says this particular model is probably large enough to hold a 15″ desk.
The newest Critical Role item at Hot Topic is this Vax and Vex panel t-shirt which also seems to be selling well.
Critical Role and Beyond the Boundary
This may seem odd, but the Critical Role background’s starry night background felt similar to me. On reflection, and after a bit of Google Image searching, I wonder if it’s inspired by Beyond the Boundary.
In particular, this image seems to have a starry night background with cosmic dust in a similar pattern.
