BGCA, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, is set to get at least $75k from Fandom’s Fanatical and publisher Perfect World Entertainment. Star Trek fans are to thank.
The Star Trek Online charity bundle is available for Windows, PlayStation and Xbox. The money-saving offer comes in two tiers and raises money for BGCA.
There are over 100 Star Trek DLC locations in the tiers, which include interactions and voiceovers from actual actors from the sci-fi series.
There’s a competition, too, with a $5,000 holiday in the shape of a place on the Star Trek: The Cruise being given to one lucky backer, as well as $720 worth of Star Trek Online expansion packs.
Notable members of BGCA include Cuba Gooding Jr, Jennifer Lopex, Adam Sandler, Denzel Washington and Katy Perry. Disney donated $1m to it following Black Panther to support STEM programs in the USA.
