Just a girl and her hound; Whistle is a new street-level superhero from DC active in Gotham.
The series is by E. Lockhart (Genuine Fraud, We Were Liars) and artist Manuel Preitano (The Oracle Code). While much of DC’s digital platforms still aren’t available outside the US, you can grab Whistle from Comixology.
The YA graphic novel follows Willow Zimerman and Lebowitz the dog as the 17 developers superpowers after an altercation with one of Gotham’s familiar villains.
Then one night, Willow and Lebowitz collide with the monstrous Killer Croc and get injured, waking up able to understand each other. But when Willow discovers that Edward and his friends are actually some of Gotham’s most corrupt criminals, she must make a choice: remain loyal to the man who kept her family together, or use her new powers to be a voice for her community.
