Higurashi: When They Cry – SOTSU is the follow up (so there may be spoilers) for the mystery horror Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU. It was delayed due to COVID-19 but now has an English-subtitled trailer and a Funimation release date of July.
Geek Native covered GOU because of controversy around the title. The series is based on an old RPG/visual novel, and fans thought it had concluded. Then a reboot was expected, but that reboot turned into a continuation in a planned surprise. However, that meant some viewers got hit by spoilers.

Higurashi is the best and only good horror anime, to be honest. I still remember my first time watching the Shion/Mion arc (my favorite in the first season), I was home alone that night and couldn’t sleep because I was too paranoid. Good times. The last arc in the first season was to give a sense of hope in the series, that all the gruesome and tragic deaths weren’t all for nothing.
