Goodman Games has smashed the funding target for the DCC & 5e dungeon crawl the Crypt of the Devil Lich. The designers promise it’ll be the most vicious adventure since Tomb of Horrors.
The dungeon was created in homage to the Gary Gygax classic and asked for $10,000 in pledges. There’s a month left on the campaign, and already nearly 650 gamers have helped raise more than $36,000. You can see the latest tally and join in from the project page.
An ancient prophecy sends your heroes into the crypt of the Devil Lich. They must destroy her, before she can return to power. Once inside, your heroes face horrors that could only be dreamt of by a mad half-drow half-fiend lich!
Goodman Games say that they’d publish the dungeon crawl anyway, even without a Kickstarter. They had before, after all. However, the goal of this campaign is to make a deluxe version of the remastered adventure available.
The 5th edition and Dungeon Crawl Classics versions will be printed with Smythe sewn binding and heavy paper. There will be a limited edition run with virgin (undecorated) art, and that style of presentation has been popular with convention sales.
A pledge of US$20 will get you the PDF of the 5e version with a bonus of the original 3e as well. Or, $20 will get you a PDF of the DCC version and also with the original 3e version.
If you want all three, they’re available as rewards with a $35 pledge.
The hardcover versions are available from $40, and they come with PDFs as bonuses. The virgin art print limited run is a reward at the $60 or higher tier.
This version of the Crypt of the Devil Lich is expected to open for November 2021.
