Slave Leia art nouveau dress and more from Black Milk

December 11, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Black Milk shot to geek fame with creations like this R2-D2 swimsuit, Pac-man swimsuit and even Gameboy swimsuit. They’ve been carefully expanding their range ever since. Their Star Wars collection has had an update. Not only is there an art nouveau style Princess Leia dress but we’ve Han in Carbonite, Han and Chewie leggings, Stormtrooper […]

Laugh it up, Fuzzball

November 29, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Laugh it up, Fuzzball. One of those designs which, once found, has to be shared. Research leads me to believe this was once sold as a t-shirt design on ShirtPunch. Hard to say whether we’ll see it again.

Rare and unusual Star Wars figures

November 20, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Star Wars: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection: 35 Years of Characters lists more than 2,500 figures. The collection showcases some the rare and unusual Star Wars figures, along with the expensive, popular and forgotten ones. As a result it’s a hefty book weighing 3.6 pounds (shipping) and some 352 pages. The figures below are some […]

X-Men as Star Wars characters

November 1, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This is a great piece of geeky mashup art from Arzeno over at Deviant Art. It puts X-Men characters into the roles of Star Wars. Gambit is Han Solo (suggested name: Han LeBeua), Rogue is Princess Leia (suggested name: Princess Leianna), Nightcrawler as Luke Skywalker (suggested name: Kurt Skywalker), Beast as Chewbacca (suggested name: Coybacca), […]

Dave Mott’s charismatic Star Wars art

April 10, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Dave Mott is an artist based in Ohia. His website and Flickr is generous with the art teasers. In particular, this trilogy of charming Star Wars art featuring Leia and Chewie appealed to me.

Beery Method’s alternative Star Wars art

March 11, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Beery Method is a graphic, branding and marketing company based in Seattle. It sounds pretty cool – trying to bring an authentic and visual voice. I can’t divine the reason why they have alternative Star Wars art in their public gallery but I’m happy that they do. The following pictures have a similar style but […]

Star Wars do Welcome to the Jungle

May 25, 2011 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I wonder what music was playing when the Empire arrived on the Forest Moon on Endor? For some reason Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries seems approporate for the Stormtroopers. Mind you; what if the music was coming from the dangerous locals rather than the imperial forces. What if the music was Guns N Roses’ Welcome […]

Chillin’ Chewbacca

September 1, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The danger of beating a wookie at chess is that it might rip your arm off. Everyone knows this. Really, though, is this fair on the wookies? Maybe they’re just big fuzz balls that like to relax at home. I suspect this may be the case. I’ve photographic evidence.

Backstar Warrior trailer rediscovered: Star Wars spin off

August 9, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Okay, okay… so this video is pretending to be a rediscovered trailer for “Blackstar Warrior” the Star Wars spin off that never was. Thankfully. I’m pretty sure it would have had a Jar Jar Binks impact on my appreciation on the films had this actually happened. Then again; maybe I’m wrong. What do you think!
