Princess Peach Borderlands cosplay

January 1, 2017 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

Borderlands makes for popular cosplay as the characters and style are so memorable. If you’ve not played Borderlands then you won’t have seen the toon-like graphics, a computer game that feels as if it’s straight out of a well illustrated graphic novel, rather than trying to be a movie. We’re waiting on news of Borderlands […]

Incredible Borderlands cosplay

June 19, 2016 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

It’s the cosplay team Thousand Faces behind this impressive Borderlands set. If you’re not familiar with the game then it’s important to stress it has its own ‘cartoon’ style of visuals that it maintains while feeling adult all of the time. One of the reasons why the reasons Thousand Faces has such a strong cosplay […]

Borderland’s Claptrap cosplay

May 17, 2016 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Claptrap is a helpful (mostly) robot from Borderlands. He’s all wheel and arms. This design, originally by NoFlutter is very clever. Does it count as a Rule 63 cosplay? Worn by cosplayer Foxxi Loxxi this Claptrap manages to retain some of the weird grace/wobble that the game’s little robot helper had. Perhaps it’s those inliners. […]

Boba does Borderlands; R2 is Claptrap

June 25, 2015 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This excellent mashup is the work of French artist Max Fradet. I think he captures all four characters wonderfully. You can tell at a glance you’ll looking at Boba Fett and R2-D2. You also know you’re looking into Borderlands and at Claptrap too. It’s well worth checking out his Deviant Art profile.

August 23, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Drake Tsui is a freelance Canadian artist. You can view his work up on Deviant Art, his Tumblr and a web comic called SIN. I think Drake’s style draws heavily on anime while still having plenty of western fantasy illustration in there. Colour? Always used boldly and will great skill. Fan of his work? You […]

Clap for the Claptrap trashcan

May 2, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Claptrap is the friendly and funny robot from the Borderlands computer game. The little fellow oozes charisma and won me over within the first few minutes of gameplay. I’m not the only one and the web is full of Claptrap fans. That said, the geeks at Our Nerd Home are experts at turning fandom into […]
