‘The more the merrier’ is definitely true when it comes to cosplaying at the SDCC. It’s not only more fun for those doing it to have some companionship, but also for the fans who love to see multiple characters from their favorite franchises. Here are some of the coolest group and couple cosplays from this year’s Comic Con.
Slime Time
These two Nickelodeon fans don’t just look incredible in their Double Dare costumes; they wore them to the perfect place —the slime booth at the Nickelodeon activation! Unlike everyone else there, they actually came out of the booth perfectly clean, with a full bowl of slime on their heads.
At that point, she dumped her slime in the trash can, but he flipped the bowl upside down on his head to enjoy the full slime experience.

Hei Hei, You’re Welcome!
Maui cosplays are a pretty common sight, though, admittedly, this guy’s costume is way more impressive than most (usually people rely on a store-bought skin suit with pre-printed tattoos). However, what makes these two truly stand out was her decision to cosplay as Hei Hei instead of Moana. In fact, I can’t say that I’ve ever actually seen someone dress up as the world’s dumbest chicken in all my years of covering costumes at SDCC.
Sauron’s Army Awaits (a Table)
Cosplayers excited about the upcoming season of The Rings of Power resulted in more ringwraiths and Nazguls at the convention than I’ve ever seen. They even flooded Hall H during the panel, though I saw these two waiting to get lunch Downtown the day before the invasion.

Nazguls Gone Wild
These two stood out from the rest of the Nazguls in their delightful vacation clothes adorned in frills and flowers. Something tells me Sauron wouldn’t approve, but, fortunately, what happens at SDCC stays at SDCC.
The Return of Zim
It’s rare to see a single Invader Zim cosplay, so seeing this big group of them was quite the treat. Pretty sure Dib will be happy that all the pictures people took of them may help him finally prove his claims that there are aliens among us.
Meanwhile in Townsville…
This family obviously must eat Chemical X for breakfast. The girls (including the oversized Bubbles) must have also had a little sugar, spice, and everything nice. However, it looks like mom skipped the cereal that morning and developed superhuman intelligence instead of super strength and speed. At least they hadn’t started wrecking the whole city yet.
Who Needs Hercules?
I sure wish I had some Muses around to tell me the backstory of how Megara and Hades suddenly started getting along so well. Whatever the reason, they both look incredible, and that’s the Gospel Truth.
If you want to recreate Hades’ look here, you can get a similar dress on Amazon, but you’ll have to hunt a little harder for a wig like this one.
Pirates Ahead
There’s plenty of loot to be had at Comic Con, so it’s no surprise there are so many pirates lurking in the exhibit hall. But I certainly didn’t expect to see Ms. All Sunday, Buggy the Clown, and Dracule Mihawk palling around together like this. Surely there’s some Monkey business going on.
Kinger and Queenie
Given the popularity of The Amazing Digital Circus, it’s no surprise that there were TADC cosplays everywhere this year. But doing a Kinger (or Queenie cosplay) is hard to do well. While these costumes are reasonably simple, they were easily the best interpretation I saw of these bizarre character designs.
A Purrfect Couple
I was really surprised how well this mask worked for this Lion-O cosplay, since it is pretty hard to recreate his cat-like features perfectly. With all of his accessories and an amazing Cheetara by his side though, the costume looked wonderfully well put together.
This is the Way
Speaking of things turning out to be unexpectedly cool, I was fortunate to spot these two Mandalorians in front of a very Star Wars-esque booth wall. While the setup wasn’t intentional, it sure made for a more striking photo of their already impressive cosplays.
Girls Getting A Head
Similarly, I couldn’t have spotted these horror baddies at a more perfect place, considering they were just outside of the Kreepsville 666 booth that sells a variety of horror-inspired clothing —including some of the best Elvira merch around.
