Back in October I wrote about a 14 year old girl from the Isle of Man – Beckii Cruel – who had won fame by dressing up and dancing along to anime credit music. The glib prediction was that she’d be big in Japan. Since then I can report she’d released a DVD – which […]
Naruto Unleashed series 8:1 review
Fear the spoilers – if you’re not up to 8:1 then don’t read this unless you want spoilers. If you’re beyond 8:1 then don’t give anything away in the comments. I’m a creature of habit. I picked up my Naruto DVD because it was cheap. Now I’ve started to watch the series on DVD that’s […]

Witchblade at the AFA ’09 Regional Cosplay Championship
The fantastic Banzai Effect has provided some first class coverage of the AFA ’09 Regional Cosplay Championship. There’s a great collection of photographs of some pretty impressive costumes. To illustrate what I mean here are two Philippines ladies; Alodia and Ashley in Witchblade inspired costumes.
Mini-Skirt Space Pirates
What’s there not to like about that name, huh? Back in March Animenation Blog had the news that Sasamoto Yuuichi’s Mini-skirt Space Pirates would be adapted from novel into anime. Today Saiani (via Anime News Network) help us date it – 2011 and a television run. Unless there’s some trustworthy fan subs it may be […]
Funimation posts odd NekoCon video
Worried you were missing out by missing NekoCon? Fear not. Funimation – the people responsible for so much of the anime I watch (don’t forget the UK guys, don’t forget) have shared a video they made of NekoCon. It looks like every other con I’ve been too. A little bit chaos, empty vending machines, interesting […]
